Reconstitution Calculator
Work out concentration, injection volume and U-100 syringe units for a reconstituted research vial. Everything is calculated in your browser.
The calculated volume exceeds the selected syringe.
How the Reconstitution Calculator Works
Concentration is the peptide mass in the vial divided by the volume of bacteriostatic water added.
concentration = peptide mass (mg) / water volume (mL)The volume to draw is the desired quantity divided by that concentration.
volume (mL) = desired quantity (mg) / concentration (mg/mL)A U-100 syringe is graduated so that 1 mL equals 100 units, so millilitres are multiplied by 100.
U-100 units = volume (mL) x 100Micrograms are converted to milligrams first, by dividing by 1000.
mg = mcg / 1000The number of quantities per vial is the total peptide mass divided by the desired quantity.
quantities per vial = peptide mass (mg) / desired quantity (mg)Concentration Reference Table

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the calculator work?
You enter the peptide mass in the vial, the volume of bacteriostatic water added, the quantity you want to calculate for and the syringe you are using. From those four values the concentration, the volume, the corresponding U-100 units and the number of quantities per vial are derived arithmetically.
How is the concentration calculated?
The peptide mass is divided by the water volume. A 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL gives 10 / 2 = 5 mg per mL.
How are millilitres converted into U-100 units?
A U-100 syringe carries 100 graduations per millilitre. The volume in millilitres is therefore multiplied by 100. 0.25 mL corresponds to 25 units.
How are micrograms and milligrams converted?
1 mg equals 1000 mcg. A quantity entered in micrograms is divided by 1000 before it is used in the calculation, so that mass and concentration share the same unit.
How do blends work arithmetically?
A blend vial states a mass per component. The calculation is run per component, using that component mass with the same water volume. The volume drawn is shared, so each component has its own concentration but the same millilitre reading.
Why can the calculated volume exceed the selected syringe?
Because volume and syringe capacity are independent. A low concentration produces a large volume. Either a smaller water volume or a larger syringe changes the arithmetic; the calculator shows the value regardless and marks when it is beyond the scale.
